Suspect Identified in Fatal Shooting
St. Petersburg Police are seeking Morris Vernell Hires III. They describe the 18-year-old suspect as armed and dangerous.

St. Petersburg Police are seeking an 18-year-old suspect in Friday's shooting death of 21-year-old Felicia Vickers.
Morris Vernell Hires III is considered armed and dangerous. He has prior arrests for Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Felony Battery, Grand Theft and Auto Theft.
Detectives say that Hires had been staying at a residence in the 500 block of 26th Ave. South but fled after the shooting.
He also goes by the names Antonio Baker and Malcolm Myey. Hires is 5'7", 135 pounds and has a tattoo on his right forearm of the letters MOE surrounded in flames.
Vickers was shot outside the residnce where Hires had been staying. Detectives say that she was a passenger in a car with several others people who stopped to purchase drugs.

According to police:
"One of the occupants of the car became involved in argument with Hires who was standing outside the vehicle. At some point Hires produced a handgun and fired into the car striking Vickers. Vickers was then driven to the hospital and dropped off by the other occupants of the car who then drove off before police arrived. They have since been identified and interviewed."
