COUNTDOWN! Taco Bus-St. Pete to Open Monday, 11 a.m., Just in Time for Lunch

Taco Bus is finally pulling into St. Petersburg and will have its grand opening Monday.

The will bring its authentic "street" cuisine to downtown St. Petersburg, not far from Tropicana Field. Doors open at 11 a.m.

The expansion to St. Petersburg was scheduled to happen last month but was delayed because of permitting and other prep issues for the site. Now everything is ready to go.

Taco Bus II, at 2324 Central Ave., will have a menu that is similar to the Hillsborough Avenue restaurant. Favorites include carne asada tacos and cochinita pibil tacos.

The new Taco Bus has indoor-outdoor seating plus table, walk-up and drive-through service. Taco Bus II also will sell wine and cerveza. Taco Bus I is named for the old bus that serves as its walk-up service counter/kitchen at the original location.
