Teen Hospitalized After Lightning Strikes Family At FL Beach On July 4
A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized after lightning struck a family of three at St. Pete Beach on July 4, reports said.
ST. PETE BEACH, FL — A teenage girl was hospitalized Friday after a family of three was struck by lightning on St. Pete Beach, according to multiple reports.
St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue crews responding to the beach access in the 4700 block of Gulf Boulevard found the family had been struck by lightning while under an umbrella on the beach, Bay News 9 said.
Crews treated all three people on the scene and two adults refused additional treatment, Fox 13 reported.

A woman who lives in a nearby apartment overlooking the beach saw the family struck by lightning, according to CBS News.
"You could hear it, it was coming closer and closer and closer, and then it happened," she said. "I don't know, I don't know. It was just one of those things, I don't know, that you can never - you can't unsee."
