Termite-Tented Homes Targeted By Burglar

St. Petersburg Police say they've captured a man responsible for breaking into a dozen tented homes over the past few weeks.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 36-year-old man faces a long list of criminal charges after St. Petersburg Police say they connected him with a string of residential burglaries that have taken place over the past five weeks. While most people avoid homes that are tented for termite extermination, police say David Cooper targeted properties being treated during a burglary spree that didn’t end until his arrest on Saturday, June 24.

Police haven’t elaborated on how they connected Cooper with the crime, but say they recovered items taken during the spree when they brought him into custody. Those items included everything from ammunition and cash to rifles and even shoes, a Monday email from the police department said.
