1. Toast to the Pier Party

LocalShops1 and St. Pete Patch will be taking over the roof of the St. Petersburg Pier Saturday for the Raise a Toast to the Pier Party. The day's events start at noon and include an art show, live music, water ski show and cocktail party. At 5:30 p.m., Cha Cha Coconuts Tropical Bar & Grill, Fresco's Waterfront Bistro, and Jonny Reno's Waterfront Restaurant & Watering Hole will battle it out in the Ultimate Pier Cocktail competition. The event is free and is from noon - 9 p.m. 

2. Ferg's Fundraiser for Family

Help some of St. Pete's own Saturday at Ferg's Sports bar on Central Avenue. The local pub will be hosting a fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday to raise money for Renee Mott and her son Dylan. The Mott family lost their home in March after a fire burned it to the ground. Live music will be provided by First Friday favorites, the Tempests. 

3. Relay for Life in St. Pete

Starting at 6 p.m. Friday, head to the Vinoy Park to help fight cancer in the annual Relay for Life. According to a news release, the 2013 Northeast St Pete Relay will begin Friday at 6 p.m. and continue throughout the night until Saturday at noon. 4. MMA Fights at Jannus

MMA fights will be coming to Jannus Live Saturday for the Florida Combat Challenge V. Watch more than 10 MMA fights inside the cage in the heart of downtown St. Pete. Tickets are $25 for GA, $35 for balcony. VIP tickets are available at Jannuslive.com. Doors open at 6 p.m. and fights start at 7 p.m. 

5. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

American Stage Theater once again takes over Demens Landing for its annual theater in the park performances. This year, the award-winning theater will be presenting the Tony Award-winning, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" through May 26. "Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime." Tickets start at $13 and can be purchased online
