Traffic Alert: Sunshine Skyway Bridge To Temporarily Close Sunday

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is reminding drivers that the Sunshine Skyway Bridge will close to northbound traffic from 3:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Sunday.

The bridge closure is due to the annual Skyway 10K race, which is expected to bring in around 8,000 racers who'll make the 6.2-mile trek across the bridge.

As the race is underway, drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes.

According to event organizers, the Skyway 10K has raised more than $1.8 million for the Armed Forces Families Foundation to date.
