Beef 'O' Brady's Takes Over the Trop

Florida International University took on Marshall University in a high pressure matchup, which saw Marshall pull away late for the 20-10 victory.

Final: Marshal 20 – FIU 10

Turning Point: Midway through the fourth quarter, a game that had been filled with punts changed with one. FIU was punting deep within its own territory when Marshall blocked the punt.

"It's been a strength of ours all season long,” Marshall head coach Doc Holliday said of blocking kicks. “We weren't getting anything done offensively and we had to create something. We blocked six punts in our six wins this season. We have been able to win the close games this year."

Marshall kicked a field goal on that drive to go up 13-10 and seize the momentum for good.

Quotable: “I just want to thank the Beef ’O’ Brady’s Bowl. What a great experience this was. I’ve had the opportunity to be in 20-plus bowls and I appreciate the hospitality of the people here in St. Pete. Our guys enjoyed being here and I’m proud of the way these boys played. Fortunately for us, we’ve had a bunch of games like this. It was a hell of a game. You’ve got to credit FIU and Mario [Cristobal]. They are a well coached team, extremely physical and it was a hell of a football game if you like defense.” – Marshall Coach Doc Holliday
