Vehicle Involved In Deadly St. Pete Hit And Run Parked At House For Days

The Florida Highway Patrol found a white Dodge pickup over the weekend that struck a pedestrian in late January and then drove away.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Troopers located a 2021 white Dodge pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in St. Petersburg Jan. 30 on 66th Street North Sunday, a Florida Highway Patrol news release said.

Troopers found the truck at a home in the area of 36th Avenue North near 49th Street North, investigators said.

Damage was found on the truck that would be consistent with the Jan. 30 crash.

The driver, who is accused of killing a 23-year-old St. Pete man with his truck, uses the vehicle as his primary mode of transportation, troopers said. Prior to detectives finding the truck, it had been parked at the house where it was found for several days.

The victim rode a scooter on 66th Street N near 51st Avenue North when he fell off it in front of the white truck and was killed, troopers said.
