ST. PETERSBURG, FL - An Uber driver was assaulted in a McDonald's parking lot Tuesday night by two brothers, according to St. Pete police. Officers were called to the McDonald’s at 1020 34th Street North about 8:40 p.m. and found driver Marvin Carroll, 47, lying on the pavement, beaten and seriously injured.
Carroll was called to pick someone up at the McDonald's and when he arrived several teens and young men got into his vehicle, including brothers David Moorer, 17, and Salvatore Henderson, 21. A relative in the parking lot told the driver not to accept them because Moorer had been reported as a runaway earlier that day.
The relative, an aunt, was trying to take Moorer home. Carroll demanded that everyone get out of his vehicle. Moorer and Henderson refused and began hitting Carroll.
