Wells Fargo Bank Robber Nabbed

St. Petersburg Police arrested Stephen Swiontek and charged him with the Aug. 9 robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank on Tyrone Boulevard, after the suspect allegedly hopped on a mountain bike and fled with the stolen cash. 

Swiontek was arrested at 601 49th St. North on Saturday without incident. Swiontek, according to Pinellas County Jail records, is no stranger to the law, with an arrest record that include grand theft autho, cocaine possession and domestic violence.

On Aug. 9, police said Swiontek, who lives at 601 49 St. N, walked into a Wells Fargo, and handed the teller a note demanding money. 

According to St. Petersburg Police, the teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money before the suspect fled the bank on a mountain bike. 

The robbery took place at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1000 Tyrone Blvd. N.
