Musician Shot, Killed Near Pinellas Park City Hall
A woman was killed in the 5100 block of 78th Avenue near the Pinellas Park City Hall on Monday night, police said

PINELLAS PARK, FL - A woman was shot and killed in the 5100 block of 78th Avenue near the Pinellas Park City Hall on Monday night, police said. The woman was identified as Caroline Morton-Hicks, 59, of St. Petersburg.
Morton-Hicks, a trombone player, was attending a practice session with the Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center earlier in the evening. After leaving the practice session, Morton-Hicks was involved in an altercation in an adjacent parking lot between the Performing Arts Center and City Hall with an unidentified person, police said.
Following the altercation, Morton-Hicks ran from the parking lot and was then shot in the 5100 block of 78th Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morton-Hicks was originally from England, according to friends. As a musician, she performed with different Pinellas musical groups. She owned rental properties in St. Petersburg, records show.
Police said there is no suspect description or information to release.
