Young Child Hit By Truck In St. Pete
A child has been hospitalized following a pedestrian crash in St. Petersburg Friday afternoon.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Friday afternoon crash involving a young child and a truck.
According to the agency, the crash occurred around 4:17 p.m. Dec. 16 in the area of 13th Avenue South and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South.
“Preliminary information is that a young child stepped in front of a truck at this location and was hit,” an email from the agency said. “The driver of the truck remained at the scene.”

The child, who is not being identified at this time, was taken as a trauma alert to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. Police have not released the child's age.
No further information is available at this time, including the name of the truck’s driver.
