8 Construction Projects to Bring More Housing to Tarpon Springs

More than 350 new single-family homes, condos and apartment units are in the works at the various developments, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

No fewer than eight construction projects are in the works that would bring 353 single-family homes, condos and apartment units to Tarpon Springs, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Officials say the boost in development is a result of the city's push to draw developers to the area as well as an economic upswing.

Here is a rundown of the various projects in the works or in varying stages of development, according to the Times:

  • Anclote River Crossings: 36 homes east of Alt. U.S. 19, near the Sponge Docks.
  • The Banyans: Town home project on Morgan Street west of Alt. U.S. 19.
  • Brittany Park: 58 condo units, plus retail space, on Brittany Park Road, west of U.S. 19.
  • Callista Cay: 62 homes on Meres Boulevard, west of Alt. U.S. 19.
  • Keystone Road: 43 homes on Keystone Road.
  • Riverview at Tarpon: 10 homes on Rivercrest Lane, near the Sponge Docks.
  • Santos Isles: 50-unit, low-income apartment complex a the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Safford Avenue, for seniors 55 and older.
  • Tarpon Key: 62 homes on Anclote Road.
