Carver Christian Academy, run by Urban Youth Impact on North Australian Avenue, combines small classes, intensive literacy support, and mentoring to help students from challenging neighborhoods like Tamarind Avenue and Riviera Beach envision brighter futures.
   

2. Becoming Roseland Gardens: Demolition splits housing project in West Palm Beach (wlrn.org) — Demolition of part of the Southridge senior housing complex in West Palm Beach has begun, launching a $63 million project that will replace 1940s cottages with the new Roseland Gardens apartments. Seniors have been relocated, many to Autumn Ridge in Westgate, and are torn between safer, modern buildings and the loss of their close-knit, walkable community as the Housing Authority and developers target a 2027 opening.

Two people found with gunshot wounds after ShotSpotter alert leads officers to scene (cw34.com) — Two people were hospitalized after a Sunday night shooting in West Palm Beach that police detected through a ShotSpotter alert near Abraham Avenue, Australian Avenue, and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. Both victims’ injuries are not life-threatening, and detectives with the West Palm Beach Police Department are still investigating what led to the gunfire.

'A people's person': New Palm Beach bishop loves sports, song, laughs (palmbeachpost.com) — Catholics in West Palm Beach and across the Diocese of Palm Beach will soon welcome Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez as their new bishop, the first Hispanic leader of the diocese.
