5 New Eateries That Have Opened Or Will Open Soon In Metro Atlanta

GEORGIA — From bayou dishes to health-conscious meals to classic chili dogs, some of metro Atlanta's newest eateries offer something for everyone. With a diverse taste and fresh perspectives, these restaurants could serve what Atlantans may be craving.
Take a look below at five new eateries that have recently opened or are slated to open in the area:
A former New Orleans Saints quarterback is marching into Marietta with his Walk On's Sports Bistreaux.
The cajun-based from-scratch restaurant was founded by Louisiana State basketball walk-ons Brandon Landry and Jack Warner in 1997, and in 2015, Drew Brees joined the ownership team.

The West Cobb site is set to open at 3625 Dallas Highway. An opening date has not been announced. Warner Robins is host to the first Georgia Walk On's location.
"We’ve worked hard over the years to create a restaurant and bar concept that pairs attention-to-detail and culinary excellence with a little Louisiana spice, pulling in that underdog mindset and hospitality, making you feel like family the moment you walk in," read the restaurant's website.

Menu items include handmade burgers, poboys, fried alligator, boudin balls, waffle cheese fries, crawfish etouffee, bayou pasta, Uncle B's chicken tenders, sweet chili salmon, voodoo shrimp and cajundillas.
Hours of operation are not readily available.
Atlanta is now home to what may be The Best Sandwich Shop but is definitely The Wurst Beer Hall.
Newly opened at 863 Ponce de Leon Ave., The Best and The Wurst combined to make a dual restaurant that caters to the city's visitors. Chef Shaun Doty and company owns the establishment.
"Classics inspired by the great sandwich shops and delis of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Philadelphia are featured, alongside local classics and some of our own custom inspirations," according to its website.
Loaded hashbrowns, a ricotta scramble, the best of the wurst sandwich, the Philly-brisket sandwich are among The Best Sandwich Shop menu items. The Wurst Beer Hall menu was not readily available on the company website.
Dine-in, online ordering and delivery are available.
The Best Sandwich Shop hours of operation: closed Monday and Tuesday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.
The Wurst Beer Hall hours of operation: closed Monday and Tuesday, 5-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday (kitchen closes at 10 p.m.), 5 p.m.-12 a.m. Friday and Saturday (kitchen closes at 11 p.m.) and 5-10 p.m. Sunday.
With gusto!, a new fast-food eatery is coming to Tucker.
gusto! will soon open its 12th location at 4650 Hugh Howell Road, Building 400, and will be led by Alex McGlashan and Erin Williams, according to a company news release. The new restaurant will open Monday, May 15.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce Alex and Erin as our leadership team for Tucker," Nate Hybl, creator and chief executive officer of gusto!, said in a news release. “Both women are absolute powerhouses who truly embody what it means to be a gusto! team member – they are kind, innovative and savvy business leaders with a people-first mentality. We’re honored to call these two ladies teammates, and we look forward to watching them make their mark on the dynamic Tucker community.”
The healthy eating restaurant has locations in Athens, Alpharetta, Buford, Chamblee, Atlanta, Decatur, East Cobb and West Midtown, according to its website. Customers are tasked with choosing their "gusto," from various options such as chipotle mango avocado, chile sesame bbq, ginger lime peanut and tzatziki lemon artichoke. Next, customers can choose their protein. Grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, umami tofu and spicy grilled chicken are available. Lastly, a vessel must be chosen. A mixed green salad, brown rice - or a mixture of the two - and a flatbread wrap are options.
Hours of operation were not listed for the Tucker location.
Emmy Squared Pizza, a nationwide chain, has brought its pizza and burger eatery to Athens.
The new location opened on May 3 at 199 Prince Ave. According to its website, Emmy Squared first opened in 2016 in Williamsburg Brooklyn, N.Y., and is owned by the Pizza Loves Emily restaurant group. Along with multiple other sites, Emmy Squared has two additional Georgia locations in West Midtown and Glenwood Park (Atlanta). Its menu features cheesy garlic sticks, marinated cucumbers, the Emily burger, the Big Ang and good Paulie pizzas, chicken parmesan sandwich and several topping choices. Online catering is coming soon to the Athens restaurant.

Dine-in hours of operation: closed Monday and Tuesday, noon-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.
Pick-up and delivery hours of operation are closed Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.

Sonic Drive-In began welcoming Sandy Springs customers on May 3 at 5903 Roswell Road.
The establishment joins more than 3,500 Sonic restaurants in 47 states. Drive-thru service, nine drive-in stalls and patio with four outdoor tables are featured at the Sandy Springs location. The drive-in plans to staff 70-75 people on its team, the company said in a news release.
"We're thrilled to expand Sonic's presence in Atlanta with a restaurant less than 2 miles from the Inspire Brands Global Support Center," John Kelly, chief company restaurant officer at Inspire Brands, said in the release. "The Sandy Springs location is one of four corporate-owned Sonic restaurants opening in the Atlanta area over the next year, and we look forward to bringing more delicious meals, treats, drinks and job opportunities to the communities we live in and serve."
Sandy Springs is one of the latest cities to be home to a Sonic. The franchise plans to open more Georgia locations in Cornelia, Barnesville and Fayetteville by early 2024.
