Missing Georgia Boy Found Safe; Amber Alert Canceled

Law enforcement officials said they located Brayden Dobbs, 4, in Douglas County, Georgia. His mother has been arrested.

UPDATE: Agents from the Haralson Paulding Drug Task Force along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they've located the child and the mother in Douglas County. The child is safe, they said. Anitritte Boyd has been arrested for aggravated assault and possession of firearm by convicted felon. The case is still under investigation.

GEORGIA — Law enforcement officials have issued a statewide Amber Alert for a Georgia boy believed to be in extreme danger.

According to the Haralson County Sheriff's Office, Anitritte Boyd Dobbs, 42, went to the home of her estranged husband, Lee Dobbs, with an unknown man on Friday.

A struggle took place and Lee Dobbs was shot. The sheriff's office has not released the status of his medical condition or revealed who shot him.

Following the shooting, Brayden Lee Dobbs, 4, was then abducted from the home on Bethlehem Church Road, deputies said.

"Investigators are pulling video evidence and hope to have the unknown male identified soon," the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Neighbors said they believe a black Dodge Charger that left the scene shortly after the gunfire. However, the boy and woman may also be in a white Chevrolet Tahoe with license plate RIL7846.

Brayden Dobbs is described as a Black boy, 3 feet tall and weighs about 40 pounds.
