Braves Opening Day 2022: Tickets, Giveaways, Weather, $25K Burger

ATLANTA, GA — Opening day for the 2022 Major League Baseball season is almost here. In Atlanta, the Braves are scheduled to play the Cincinnati Reds at Truist Park on Thursday.

First pitch is set for 8:08 p.m. EDT, and will be shown on ESPN2. Max Fried has been chosen to open the game, which is his second consecutive Opening Day starter nod.

The Braves are hoping to repeat their last season after winning the World Series in 2021. The Braves clenched the team's first World Series title in 26 years Nov. 2, 2021 against the Houston Astros. The last time the Braves won was in 1995, when they defeated the Cleveland Indians in six games.

Now, the team and its fans are preparing to bring that energy into 2022 with hopes of another trophy. That includes a $25,000 hamburger available for purchase.

Tickets

Tickets for Thursday's game are available on Ticketmaster. The lowest priced option is standing room only, with no seat, for $30. Several seats in the lower level are still available, ranging from $408-$72.

Giveaways

Plenty of giveaways will accompany the opening week games, and throughout the season. Magnetic schedules will be given to fans on Friday, April 8; a poster on Sunday, April 10; and a replica World Series ring on Monday, April 11. Next week includes bobble heads, a koozie and a figurine.

Food - $25,000 World Champions Burger

Truist Park offers a wide variety of dining options for fans, including fast food, sit-down dining, and new this year, a $25,000 burger.

The Braves announced the World Champions Burger which is described as a, "half-pound Waygu beef burger on a toasted, Irish-buttered brioche bun, topped with cage-free pan-fried eggs, gold-leaf-wrapped Hudson Valley foie gras, grilled cold water lobster tail, heirloom tomato, garden-fresh Bibb lettuce, Tillamook cheddar cheese and truffle aioli. Served with parmesan waffle fries."

Those who decide to dine like royalty will also get to chose from either a replica World Series Championship ring for $151, or a limited-edition World Series Championship ring for $25,000, while supplies last.

Weather

Following storms earlier in the week, the weather should clear up in time for first pitch. The National Weather Service says Thursday should be sunny with a high near 66 degrees. Thursday night will drop to around 44 degrees, but will continue to be clear. Wind gusts as high as 20-25 may be possible.
