Georgia authorities say they have arrested a mother in connection with the death of her 7-month-old child.

LEE COUNTY, GA — A mother is facing murder charges in connection with the death of her 7-month-old child, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday.

Authorities said Nyla Simmons, 22, of Albany, was arrested after the infant died on Oct. 16. Lee County deputies responded to an Albany hospital, where the infant was pronounced dead, the GBI said.

The infant was brought to the hospital from a Ledo Road car dealership, the GBI said. The cause and manner of death were not revealed.
