GA Mom Speaks Out After Son Killed By Dogs: Report

"That last day, the devil had her," a GA mom reportedly said after police say her son was fatally mauled by dogs while a babysitter napped.

VALDOSTA, GA — A Georgia mom says she wants justice for her 2-year-old son after he was fatally mauled by two Rottweilers while his babysitter slept for two hours.

Adrianna Jones, mother of toddler Kaimir Jones, spoke with local TV news outlet WALB after her son died around 3:45 p.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of Pecan Drive in Valdosta.

Police said resident Stacy Wheeler Cobb, 48, was operating an unlicensed home daycare at the time.

On Saturday, Adrianna Jones brought her son to Cobb's home so she could watch him, police said. She told WALB she was working at the time.

Police said Kaimir Jones was left unattended for two hours. Cobb told officers "she was taking a nap and thought the child was, as well," police said.

While Kaimir Jones was unattended, police said he was able to go into the backyard and open a kennel to let out two large Rottweilers that fatally attacked him.

Cobb advertised her daycare on local Facebook groups, Adrianna Jones told WALB. Cobb provided references, which Adrianna Jones said led her to contact Cobb.

"That was not the same lady I met the first day," Adrianna Jones said. "That last day, the devil had her. That was not the same lady."

She said she wants Kaimir Jones' name to spread everywhere.

"I don't want her to sleep," Adrianna Jones said of Cobb. "I want this to eat her up. I want blue hearts all around the world."

While at work, Adrianna Jones told WALB she had been texting Cobb to check on her child but never received a response, which was unusual.

When she arrived to the house, police told her, "My baby was gone." She told a reporter she thought that meant he had been taken to a hospital but learned otherwise when she asked if her son was OK.

"He (an officer) shook his head and looked me in my eyes and said, 'Sorry Adrianna, he's not alright," she told WALB. "... I cried so hard."

Police arrested Cobb on charges of second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. She was taken to the Lowndes County Jail, police said.

Lowndes County Animal Control officers took custody of the two Rottweilers, as well as a third dog that was at the home, police said.

Though Kaimir Jones was the only child there that day, police said Cobb could have as many as 10 children at her home on most days.
