COWETA COUNTY, GA — Two parents are facing charges after authorities said they gave their 1-year-old beer while out to dinner at a Coweta County restaurant, according to multiple reports citing police.

Craig Banks, 34, of Hogansville, and Paetyn Gregory, 30, of Newnan, were arrested and each charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor following the June 3 incident at Old Chicago Pizza in Sharpsburg, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

According to reports, deputies responded to the restaurant after a manager contacted authorities and told them he had recorded Banks and Gregory giving their child alcohol. When deputies made contact with Banks, authorities said he smelled of alcohol and told them, "My baby is one, why the f--- would I do that?”

Gregory also denied the claim and told police she had given the child a sip of her tea, the Newnan Times-Herald reported.

Deputies reviewed the video footage taken of the couple and saw Banks waiting for the bartender to turn around before giving the baby a sip of his beer, WSB-TV reported. The couple then laughed as Gregory held the baby.

Reports said they gave the baby beer six times, each time the bartender turned around.

At one point, Gregory went to retrieve a high chair and Banks continued giving the child beer while looking around to see if anyone was watching.

According to the Times-Herald, Banks also became belligerent during his arrest and told police he was going to urinate in the patrol car.

Deputies contacted the Department of Human Services, who turned the baby over to a relative's custody.
