GA Student Dies Of Unknown Cause, University Says
The 18-year-old university freshman was from central Georgia, officials said.
FORT VALLEY, GA — A freshman at Fort Valley State University died of an unknown cause, officials announced Wednesday.
FVSU President Paul Jones said the university is mourning the death of Jame’la Moore, a freshman from Columbus. Moore died on Oct. 17, they said.
Her obituary showed she was age 18 at the time of her death.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who knew and loved her,” Jones said in a statement.
A May 17 Facebook post from the Jordan Vocational High School College and Career Academy listed Moore as a Class of 2025 graduate. According to the post, she was the school's Senior Class Council's treasurer.

The day before graduation, Jordan Vocational said Moore was the recipient of a scholarship.
A cause of death for Moore was not released.
