Brianna Marie Grier, 28, of Sparta, was arrested July 15 at a home on Hickory Grove Church Road in Sparta. Sparta is about 50 miles northeast of Macon, Ga.

Hancock County Sheriff Terrell Primus asked the GBI to investigate the same day.
Grier’s parents told WMAZ-13 that she was having a schizophrenic episode. They called the sheriff's office for help. Marvin and Mary Grier told the news station that two deputies arrived and handcuffed Grier before putting her in the back of the patrol cruiser.
