For $17.8M, You Can Own Georgia's Most Expensive Home

GEORGIA — If you’re deep-pocketed enough to afford it, a $17.8 million mansion in St. Simons Island could give you the opportunity to purchase the most expensive home for sale in Georgia.

The most expensive homes on the market in the U.S. range in value from $225 million in California to $3 million in Nebraska, according to the real estate platform Point2Homes.com, which put together a list of the most expensive homes in for sale every U.S. state.

While movie theaters, gyms, tennis courts and waterfronts are often the norm for pricey homes, some of these include private parks, private docks, horse barns and even underground tunnels.

In Georgia, Sthe St. Simons Island mansion is a gated family compound, on a private island of nearly four acres, surrounded by scenic marsh and deep water, directly accessible by a private gated bridge, just minutes from Sea Island, according to the listing description.

It offers 10 bathrooms and five bedrooms. Two guest houses include two suites with separate entrances. The 2,000-square-foot Clubhouse includes a fully-equipped workout facility overlooking the water and marsh.
