'Please Help Bury My Mama': GA Boy, 11, Raises Funds For Mom's Funeral
After his mom died, an 11-year-old Georgia boy stood on the side of the road with a sign as he asked for help with her funeral costs.
ROME, GA — "Please help bury my mama." This was a young Georgia boy's plea for help after the loss of his mother on July 16.
The 11-year-old boy, identified in a GoFundMe as Kayden, is reportedly from Rome. Kayden's mother died after suffering cardiac arrest on July 8, said Jennifer Fife, who is the organizer of the GoFundMe.
The mother's obituary identified her as Shannon Mount, 45. Her obituary shows Mount was a mother of five children.

With no life insurance policy in place, Fife said Kayden decided to stand roadside for two days with a sign in an effort to raise burial funds. A heartfelt cry for help, the sign read, "Please help bury my mama."
Kayden created the sign as part of a hot dog stand, according to an 11Alive report. He planned to use the proceeds from the stand for Mount's funeral, the news outlet reported.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, the GoFundMe surpassed its $7,100 goal and raised more than $34,000.
Fife said any funds gathered pass the amount needed for Mount's funeral will go toward purchasing necessities for Kayden. Money will also help with college planning, she said.
"He is so thankful. Thank ya'll for making him smile," Fife wrote in the GoFundMe.
After receiving community support, 11Alive reported Kayden will give away his hot dogs for free.
Mount is set to be buried Saturday in Rome, according to her obituary.
