ATLANTA — In his sermon a day before the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday, Senator-elect Raphael Warnock preached about the need for integrity and equity during these unusual times when many are trying to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn. As divisive rhetoric from the White House and Republican voices alleged fraud in the presidential election, Warnock said those who attacked the U.S. Capital on Jan. 6, as being “driven by the worst impulses, stirred up by demagogues.”
