Masters Par 3 Contest Resumes; Weather Could Affect First Round
Thunder forced officials at Augusta National to temporarily suspend practice and the Par 3 contest Wednesday.

AUGUSTA, GA — The Masters Par 3 contest has resumed Wednesday afternoon, according to tournament officials.
Officials at Augusta National temporarily closed the golf course and suspended practice as well as the Par 3 contest because of thunder the day before The Masters.
The gates reopened at 12:45 p.m., and play started at 1 p.m.

The stormy weather could affect play early Thursday as thunderstorms are expected to continue in the area Wednesday afternoon. Rain chances will persist through the night and early Thursday, according to Accuweather.
The Masters tournament is set to begin at 7 a.m. Thursday.
