Acworth Business Competes for Grant

Success Staffing would use money from Chase contest to expand staffing and training.

Success Staffing, a local childcare staffing agency in Acworth, could win $250,000 in grants it would use to expand its childcare staffing and training across the region.

The program from Chase will award a total of three million dollars in grants to 12 small businesses.

The contest includes two parts: The first was to answer five short essays in 500 characters, which was due on Oct. 31. Now, each company must generate 250 Facebook votes from community members and supporters in order for the essays to be read.

Says wwner Monique McKenzie: “It is crucial that we have a greater amount of childcare teachers available to work in centers. Currently there is a shortage of teachers with their CDA credential. Our clients rely on us to stay within state-mandated ratio and keep their centers safe by providing qualified teachers in the event they are short staffed. We also train teachers to receive their CDA for only $20 per class, which is a fraction of the price of many local programs.”
