Boy, 4, Had Bruises Days After Beating
His father was arrested Monday on a charge of cruelty to children in the first degree.

A 4-year-old Acworth boy had bruises on his legs, thighs and buttocks four days after his father allegedly whipped him.
Robert Anthony Lugo was arrested Monday on a charge of cruelty to children in the first degree in connection with the alleged incident, which occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. May 1 at a home in the 1200 block Stanton Place Lane.
He is accused of inflicting "excessive pain and cruelty to his son by beating him with a belt that left excessive bruising on his legs, thighs and buttock," an Acworth police officer wrote in a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Lugo was released from custody on a $5,000 bond.
