Dallas Man Accused Of Assaulting Acworth Officers, Faces Charges
Officers responded after reports of the man running around naked near a lodge and assaulting guests.
ACWORTH, GA — An Acworth officer was among those injured after a physical confrontation with a man who was naked, police said Thursday.
Officers responded on Dec. 18 in the 6000 block of Lake Acworth Drive to a welfare check. Police said a naked man was seen running around near a lodge and screaming.
The man is accused of assaulting some of the lodge guests, police said.

While officers were on scene, police said the man hit an officer and tried to strangle him. The man is accused of assaulting other officers as they arrived on scene, police said.
Officers used force against the man, including the use of a taser, and emergency medical personnel gave the man a sedative to calm him, police said.

Michael Holcomb, 37, of Dallas, is charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, battery, burglary-forced, obstruction of law enforcement officers and second degree damage to property in connection with the case, police said. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital before being released to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center Tuesday, police said.
The officer who was injured in the case is expected to return to work this week, police said.
