KSU Volleyball Swings into Conference Play

Kennesaw State volleyball team takes on USC tonight, kicking off the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Kennesaw State volleyball team will begin Atlantic Sun Conference competition this week as the Owls play host to USC Upstate tonight in the KSU Convocation Center at 7 p.m.

The Owls are enjoying their best start in program history at 10-4 and will look to continue the roll against the 4-6 Spartans.

KSU is currently 4-0 on its home floor while Upstate is 0-3 away from home.

Defense continues to be the strong suit for the Owls, holding opponents to a .166 attack percentage while totaling 721 digs and 70 blocks as a team.

Individually, Emily Bean (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike High School) had one of her best weekends to date, earning a spot on the Charlotte 49er Invitational All-Tournament Team with 20 kills, 13 digs and three blocks in three matches.

Setter Sara Metroka (New Castle, Ind./New Castle Chrysler High School) was also named to the All-Tournament Team with 85 total assists, putting her at 499 on the season.

Tonight’s match will be a Trivia Tuesday, with a team trivia competition and free pizza following the match in section 104.
