No Injuries In Cherokee House Fire

The Thursday fire temporarily shut down Old Highway 92 while crews were on the scene for hours.

ACWORTH, GA — There were no injuries in an Old Highway 92 fire Thursday morning, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.

Fire officials said Thursday night Cherokee County and Woodstock firefighters responded around 10 a.m. to Old Highway 92 in unincorporated southwest Cherokee.

When they arrived, they found flames and smoke coming from a home. Firefighters had limited access to the inside of the home and were on the scene for hours.

"Old Highway 92 was closed for a majority of the incident, and one lane of Highway 92 towards
Acworth was closed for a short period of time at the beginning of the incident," fire officials said in a news release.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
