• Acworth officers save choking senior with LifeVac device on New Year's Day (wsbtv.com) — Acworth police officers used a LifeVac device on New Year’s Day to save a choking resident at Northstar Square Assisted Living on Quick Water Landing, then sent them for further evaluation at Kennestone Hospital. Every Acworth officer now carries LifeVac, a policy inspired by earlier local rescues that have already helped save multiple people from choking emergencies.
   

• Health inspection scores for Cobb County restaurants and other food services from December 26 to January 1 (cobbcountycourier.com) — A Dairy Queen Grill & Chill on Cowan Road in Acworth earned a strong 99 on its December 29 health inspection, according to the latest Cobb County scores.
