Man Drowns in Lake Allatoona
He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in cardiac arrest and couldn't be revived.

The man pulled from Lake Allatoona at Dallas Landing Park on Saturday morning died, announced in a news release Sunday.
Acworth officers responded to the Dallas Landing Park beach about 9:45 a.m. to assist with a swimmer who was pulled from the lake by witnesses after being underwater for several minutes, the news release said.

The witnesses said the man, Gregory Edelin, 34, of Fairburn, was swimming outside the marked swimming area when he went under. Initial reports from the Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services Department on Saturday had indicated Edelin was 40.
Edelin received CPR from witnesses and emergency personnel, but he was pronounced dead at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

A man was pulled from Lake Allatoona this morning and received CPR to save his life.
The incident occurred off of the beach at at the start of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, when Acworth's beaches and lakes are major attractions.
Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman Denell Boyd said an emergency call was received at 9:40 a.m. reporting that "a person was underwater."
Rescue personnel arrived to find people performing CPR on the man, she said.
Boyd said she cannot confirm the man's current condition but that he was in cardiac arrest when he was taken to this morning.
The incident occurred about 14 hours after near in the Cherokee County portion of Lake Allatoona. The search for that man continues.
