Student Hit By Car While Walking To School

Acworth police say the girl walked in front of a car outside of a designated crosswalk and was hit by the car Tuesday.

ACWORTH, GA — A Cobb County student was taken to the hospital Tuesday after being hit by a car while walking to school, police said.

Acworth officers responded around 8 a.m. to Old 41 Highway, near North Cobb High School, where they found a girl laying in the street, according to a news release. She was alert and stable, police said.

According to the Acworth Police Department, the girl tried to cross the street outside of a designated crosswalk and was hit when she walked in front of the car.
