  1. Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker was in Alpharetta on Friday. Walker delivered a speech outside City Hall on public safety and his support of law enforcement. The candidate was joined by former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, State Sen. Brandon Beach, and National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd. (Alpharetta Roswell Herald)
  2. Crabapple Road is slated to become the heart of downtown Milton, according to plans developed by city officials and the Georgia Department of Transportation. The streetscape plans for the area west of Itaska Walk and east of Lecoma Trace/Marstrow Drive are to promote economic growth while simultaneously blending with the community. The final design phase of the project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2023. (Milton Herald)
  3. Food recovery volunteers are needed at North Fulton Community Charities in nearby Roswell. The volunteers would be responsible for picking up food donations from area restaurants and grocery stores. The items will become pantry selections. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. Howard Brothers Outdoor Power off of Atlanta Highway in Alpharetta was broken into Thursday morning. According to reports, $17,000 worth of chainsaws were stolen by three suspects who were seen on camera. The suspects were in and out of the store in less than five minutes. (WSB Atlanta)
  5. Amid the fight between Fulton County and 15 cities over the Local Option Sales Tax revenue, Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin spoke up about the city's projected $6 million loss a year. He hinted that without that money, the community would suffer. “It would be either loss of services or an increase in taxes," he said. "That’s almost 10 percent of our general fund budget."
