Here are the top five stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- The City of Alpharetta is hosting an in-person informal Public Information Open House (PIOH) to discuss the North Point Parkway Streetscape Enhancement project from Mansell Road to Haynes Bridge Road. The city is seeking public comment on the proposed improvements. The open house will be held on Jul. 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the City Hall, 2 Park Plaza in Alpharetta. There is also a virtual PIOH here that is open for comment now until Aug. 2. (Press Release Desk )
- On Jul. 19, the Fulton County School Board voted to update its policies to reflect the new state law, House Bill 1084. Fulton County schools now have a process for addressing and handling complaints about how race and racism are taught or discussed in the classroom. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Tickets are now on sale for Taste Around Town in Alpharetta, a two-day food and drink tasting "foodie experience." The event is on Jul. 22 and Jul. 23 and features Alpharetta chefs and restaurants, live music, cooking demonstrations, and more. (What Now Atlanta)
- On the final day of the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft, pitcher Cole Stupp, from Milton, was selected by Detroit. Stupp had a career 5.48 earned run average in 25 games and a 124:31 strikeout:walk ratio. (UK Athletics)
