Now, today's weather: Today will be sunny and pleasant with a high of 85 and a low of 61.
Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:
- Progress is being made on the new roundabout at Birmingham Crossroads in Milton. It's been marked out, and the four way stop signs there have been removed. Drivers who approach the Birmingham Road/Hickory Flat Road/Birmingham Highway intersection can do so as if it is a roundabout and yield for other vehicles. This project is being managed by the Georgia Department of Transportation and is expected to be done in 2024. (City of Milton)
- Vehicles parked outside of Ruth Chris Steakhouse and Village Tavern in Alpharetta were recently burglarized. The suspects smashed the vehicles' window while the owners were eating in the restaurants and stole almost $7,000 worth of electronics. Security cameras caught one of the possible suspect's vehicles, and police are investigating the robberies. The affected cars were a GMC pickup truck and a Volvo sedan. (Appen Media)
- Are you interested in having dinner with a free meal for your children and supporting Children’s Development Academy at the same time? If you have dinner at Table & Main, Osteria Mattone, or Casa Robles (all in Roswell) this evening, the restaurants will donate a portion of the proceeds "to purchase school supplies for Children’s Development Academy, a nonprofit daycare/preschool which provides affordable educational programs to children from low-income families." Children under 10 can eat for free! (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- A dozen cars were broken into at two hotels in midtown Atlanta last weekend. Guests at both the Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites Atlanta left their cars with a valet and found out the following morning that their cars had been vandalized. One guest said that the valet parked their car in a lot with a sign that said, "Unauthorized parking, 30-minute visitor parking." because the lot was full. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

- Firefighters from Milton and Alpharetta successfully put out a home fire along Hopewell Plantation Drive in Milton earlier this week. There were no injuries reported as a result of this fire. The street was closed to traffic to allow the first responders completely put out the flames. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
