Here are the top five stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. The cities of Fulton County, including Alpharetta and Milton, have united to oppose the county board of commissioners' proposed Local Option Sales Tax (L.O.S.T.) distribution increase. Alpharetta and several other cities have issued statements saying that the proposed 600 percent increase "will necessitate raising property taxes on nearly all Fulton County residents and businesses at a time when they can least afford it."   2. Trademark Property Company, the developer hired to remake North Point Mall, released a three-minute promotional fly-through video that shows what the company has in mind for the mall. Trademark officials want to "make North Point a national model for mixed-use redevelopment." The video was released after Alpharetta's Planning Commission asked for significant modifications to the $500-million development plans earlier this month. (Urbanize Atlanta)
  3. The Italian market, Il Bottegone, will open on Jul. 26 at Halcyon in Alpharetta. The market has a build-your-own charcuterie board concept and specializes in Italian sandwiches, pastas, pastries, and more. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)

Former TLC reality series "90 Day Fiancé" star, 43-year-old Michael Baltimore, is on the U.S. Marshal's 15 Most Wanted fugitive list for allegedly killing a Cumberland County barbershop owner and injuring another man in 2021. According to investigators, Baltimore has personal ties to a few cities and regions, including the greater Atlanta area. Officials are asking for the public in those locations to be on high alert.
