Greenway Extension, Encore Park Gateway Receives City Funding
The North Fulton Community Improvement District approved a $200,000 partnership with Alpharetta on the design of the Greenway extension.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The North Fulton Community Improvement District approved an additional $200,000 to partner with the City of Alpharetta on the design of the Encore Park Gateway and Greenway Extension project during their board meeting Aug. 3.
The future of the Greenway will begin at the Encore Parkway at North Point Parkway intersection. It will serve as a connecting bridge for the Alpha Loop on the west side of Ga. 400 and with the Big Creek Greenway on the east side.
“We as a city are grateful for the continued support from our CID partners," Donald Mitchell, Alpharetta City Council, mayor pro tem, said in a news release. "Their financial contribution will allow us to design the pivotal Encore Gateway feature connecting the Alpha Loop through the North Point District to our Greenway. We believe this will be the beginning of our mutual investment in the redevelopment of the entire North Point Corridor. This step is a vital beginning for great things to come to North Point and for all of Alpharetta’s prosperity.”

The Encore Park Gateway and Greenway Extension project was envisioned in the city’s recently completed and approved study to connect the Alpha Loop to the Big Creek Greenway. The project is expected to break ground in mid-2022.
This is not the first project to be completed by the City of Alpharetta and North Fulton Community Improvement District in partnership. Both parties were responsible for the $17.9 million Encore Parkway Bridge and Streetscape project completed in 2017.
