- Did you know that Sept. 15- Oct. 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month? Fogón and Lions at 10 Roswell St., Suite 100, in Alpharetta is hosting a "block style" Rum-Ba Festival on Sunday, Sept. 17 to celebrate. You can enjoy food, drinks, music and dancing from 4-8 p.m. There will also be tasting tents plus $5 rum cocktails! (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Are you interested in learning about Tanzanian culture? There will be a free celebration at the Newtown Park Amphitheater, located at 3150 Old Alabama Road in Johns Creek, on Sunday, Sept. 24. Come and enjoy music and dancing from 1-4 p.m.! (Tanzania)
- Earlier this week, there was an hours long SWAT standoff at a RaceTrac on Crossville Road in Roswell. Police were called around midnight on Tuesday about a suspicious man who was armed. He barricaded himself in front of the store with his gun. The employees were safely evacuated from the building. The man shot at police and SWAT members returned fire. The SWAT team consisted of officers from Roswell, Alpharetta and Milton. The man was brought to the hospital where he passed away. (WSB Atlanta)
- Gwinnett County police are investigating a body found in the trunk outside Jeju Sauna in Duluth. This business is a popular Korean bathhouse that is open 24 hours a day. - A nurse saved the life of a boy at Tacos and Tequila in Cumming. The child was with his mother and started choking. Charis Putmon, a trauma nurse, heard the commotion and was able to remove what was in the boy's mouth. She praised the boy's mother, who was not trained on how to help someone who was choking, for screaming for help. (WSB Atlanta)

- Midway Elementary School wants to congratulate the September "Mustangs Making A Difference" winners. There were six award recipients who were recognized for going above and beyond to help out our community. (Midway Elementary via Facebook)
- Two groups of volunteers in planted flags to remember the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, near their schools. Boy scouts from Troop 1459 placed flags outside Cambridge High School. In addition, students from Kings Ridge Christian School did the same near Bethany Bend. On the morning of 9/11, students, employees and faculty had an assembly outside the front of Kings Ridge.
