  1. Are you planning to set off fireworks this weekend in Milton? They are allowed on Labor Day between 10 a.m. and midnight that night, but not during any other days during the weekend. There are restrictions regarding where they're allowed. For example, they cannot be set off in any city parks, near a gas station, nursing home, health care facility, along a public road, etc. Here is a link to more information on fireworks www.miltonga.gov/fireworks. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  2. Are you a fan of crab dip? You're in luck — Lapeer Steak & Seafood’s version, called Gulf blue crab gratin, is excellent according to a recent article in the AJC. It's served in a skillet and includes sweet onions, scallions, cheese, breadcrumbs and a generous amount of crab! This restaurant is located at 12 N. Broad St. in downtown Alpharetta. (Subscription - The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Last weekend, the Drake House in Roswell had a successful fundraiser called "Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’." Over 3,000 attendees enjoyed more than 100 ice cream flavors, music, games and children's activities. The Drake House helps homeless single women and their children within our community. Many organizations and churches in our area support the Drake House, which has been open since 2004. You can learn more about the Drake House by visiting www.thedrakehouse.org or call 770-587-4712.
