  1. Alpharetta police urged the public to be careful due to numerous bear sightings throughout the city. The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety received reports of
    a bear moving south through neighborhoods along Highway 9 and as of Jul. 24, it was last seen near Winthrope Chase subdivision. The bear is reportedly wearing a neck collar which allows officials to track its location. Officials advised not to engage the bear and secure pets, garbage cans, and homes. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. Sania Khan, a 29-year-old Pakistani American photographer who was allegedly killed by her ex-husband in a murder-suicide on Jul. 18, had talked about her divorce and healing journey on social media. On TikTok, Sania urged women to stop ignoring the reg flags and discussed feeling empowered after filing for divorce. Her ex-husband, 36-year-old Raheel Ahmed, traveled from his home in Alpharetta to Chicago, Sania's new home, and allegedly shot her and then himself. (ABC News)
  3. On Jul. 30, Jul. 31, Aug. 27, Aug. 28, Sep. 24, and Sep. 25, there will be an outdoor artists market called Alpharetta Art in the Park at Brooke Street Park. Art including pottery, woodwork, metal work, jewelry creations, handmade children's clothing, photography, watercolor, oil, mosaic art, and more will be displayed in the park in Downtown Alpharetta.   4. On Aug. 19 and Aug. 20, Milton High School will host the 2022 Atlanta Freedom Bowl, which aims to raise awareness for U.S. military veterans. Eight high school football teams will compete against one another in four marquee matchups, and the winner of each game will be awarded a Freedom Bowl Championship trophy. The Freedom Bowl proceeds benefit wounded warriors and their families. (Appen Media)
