Milton Fire To Resume COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
The Milton Fire-Rescue Department will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, and also offering flu shots.

MILTON, GA — The Milton Fire-Rescue Department resumes its COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week, offering all three vaccine options as well as shots for eligible children.
Just as they had last spring, Milton firefighters are offering this service for interested members of the public in partnership with ReVue Pharmacy.
The next clinics will take place on Thursday, Nov. 18, at Community Place, the building next to City Hall at 2006 Heritage Walk in Milton.

Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., firefighters will administer Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, as well as Pfizer vaccines to adults. This is the first time they will be offering a Pfizer option, which means the first time they can administer shots to those between ages 12 and 17.
The CDC has also recommended “booster” shots for certain groups who were immunized earlier, with individuals having the opportunity to get a different version than they originally received. People yet to be vaccinated can receive their first shots at the Milton Fire clinics as well. CDC guidelines for booster shots can be found online.

Milton Fire plans to offer these vaccines to adults every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Place for the next several weeks, except Thanksgiving. Follow the City of Milton’s Facebook page for the latest details or email covidsupport@cityofmiltonga.us for information.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can get age-appropriate Pfizer vaccines from Milton firefighters also on Thursday between 3 and 6 p.m. during a special after-school clinic. This is the only scheduled youth clinic right now, though Milton Fire may offer more times and dates depending on community interest. People age 12 and older can get vaccines at this afternoon clinic, too.
Flu shots will be offered at all the aforementioned clinics as well.
No pre-registration or scheduling is required for any of these clinics (for adults or children, though a parent must be on-hand for the latter). People can simply show up and register quickly on-site. This service is available to anyone who qualifies, and not just Milton residents. Still, those who want to plan ahead can register in advance online for COVID-19 vaccines, or COVID-19 and flu shots, or online for flu shots only.
All these clinics are an extension of Milton Fire CARES, the last word standing for Community Advocates for Referral and Education Services. This new element of the Milton Fire-Rescue Department aims to promote better health among citizens, bridging the gap between emergency care and everyday needs. In addition to specially trained firefighters, it will utilize volunteers from the Department’s CERT, or Community Emergency Response Team, program.
In that vein, CERT members plan to be at Thursday’s clinics to offer free health screenings to check blood pressure, heart rhythm abnormalities and more.
