Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- The City of Milton needs your input on transportation related issues. They are holding focus groups on three different topics, which are the Crabapple area, Deerfield/Highway 9 section, and biking and walking. They are interested in including citizens who live in those areas or walk/bike around town. The list of participants will be completed by Aug. 7, so sign up soon if you're interested. Here is a link to information on the project https://www.miltonga.gov/gover... If you're interested in learning about these groups, contact Engineering Project Manager Rob Dell-Ross at robert.dell-ross@miltonga.gov. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- There was a fight reported to police at the Avalon Hotel in Alpharetta on July 15. At 2 a.m., a caller told police that he had been attacked when a group was trying to get on an elevator. The other individuals told police that the caller tried to force his way into an elevator they were on. There were allegedly punches thrown during the argument, and the caller was removed from the hotel by security. (Appen Media)
- A Roswell woman was sexually assaulted earlier this week when walking along the Riverwalk Trail between Riverside Road and Dogwood Road, police said. She was on the path Tuesday morning and was approached by a man wearing dark clothes who said he had a gun. He forced her into the woods and assaulted her there. Police are investigating this attack. (WSB Atlanta)
- An Alpharetta woman has been arrested for multiple shoplifting incidents at Walmart on Peachtree Parkway. She was seen on camera scanning dental floss and then stole expensive food items such as steak and king crab. The store says she stole over $1,00o of merchandise. (Appen Media)
