Flooding, Hail, Storms Expected Wednesday Across GA
A tornado watch has been issued for several counties south of Atlanta, with wind gusts, flooding, and hail possible elsewhere in the state.
METRO ATLANTA, GA — Another round of storms will likely pour down more rain across north and central Georgia on Wednesday. A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Georgia south of Atlanta until 10 p.m.
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service as several rounds of showers and thunderstorms move across the area Wednesday afternoon and overnight.

Some storms may become strong to severe and capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. A tornado or two are possible.

Flooding and flash flooding is possible, especially in areas that received heavy rainfall on Tuesday. Due to that, a flood warning is still in effect for Big Creek near Alpharetta, affecting Fulton and Forsyth Counties.
At 7-feet, flood stage is reached, according to NWS. Minor flooding of woodlands and fields begin along the creek between Cumming in Forsyth County to Alpharetta and Roswell in North Fulton.

As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, the stage was 7.3-feet and steady. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.1-feet just after midnight Wednesday. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday afternoon.
Flooding starts to affect portions of the Big Creek Greenway near Alpharetta and some portions may become closed with around one foot of water, especially upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road and near Rock Mill Park. Portions of the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will begin to flood.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 76. Southwest wind 5-10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday night
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3 a.m. Some storms could be severe. Low around 51. South wind around 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. West wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
