  1. Are you interested in playing soccer or petanque this fall? Leagues are starting soon in Milton; soccer will be played at Legacy Park and petanque will be played in the parking lot of Bell Memorial Park. If you're not familiar with petanque, it involves tossing a boule toward a jack. Milton residents will pay a discounted rate. You can learn more about both programs at www.miltonga.gov/Activities. (City of Milton)
  2. What should Milton do with its greenspaces? The city is putting together a strategy for all of its six greenspaces. There will be a meeting for citizens on Sept. 7 from 6-7:30 p.m. to discuss many topics including dog parks, bird viewing stations restrooms, etc. They are planning to have two additional sessions later this fall. Here is a link to a survey, which is another way to provide input: https://form.jotform.com/231293243190147. (City of Milton)
  3. During this month, Milton is focusing on mental health in a number of ways. There will be an interactive webinar on Sept. 7 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. called “The Power of Positive Parenting.” You can access the webinar at www.miltonga.gov/ParentingWebinar. Other events and information will be shared via Milton's Facebook page and a special webpage available at www.miltonga.gov/MentalWellness. (City of Milton)
  4. The Alpharetta police were called to the Cookout restaurant last month due to a driver "laying drag" nearby. They arrested an 18-year-old from North Georgia for reckless driving and brought him to the North Fulton County jail. (Appen)
