- Starting today, there will be crews cleaning up the following parks in Milton: Birmingham Park, Milton City Park and Preserve, and Providence Park. They will be focusing on trails that can't be used now due to downed branches and other debris. The plan is to start at 8 a.m. with chainsaws and be finished on Friday, weather permitting. If you know of a tree that has fallen or blocking a trail, please report it via https://seeclickfix.com/miltonga. "Just click 'New Request,' click on 'Park Issues,' and share the details." - Are you interested in participating in Alpharetta's Scarecrow Harvest? They will be displayed throughout the downtown area, and over 150 will be provided by schools, nonprofits, families, neighborhoods and businesses! You can submit an application now. - Three historic homes museums in Roswell have free admission; they are Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall and Smith Plantation. Barrington Hall is at 535 Barrington Drive and has a textile mill along Vickery Creek. Bulloch Hall at 180 Bulloch Ave. has a reproduction of slave quarters, preserved interiors and outdoor gardens. Smith Plantation is next to Roswell City Hall and shows the history of Roswell going up to the 1950's. (Alpharetta-Roswell Herald)

- Does your child need an after-school program? Check out the ones offered by the YMCA; they are "partnering with WINGS for Kids, a nonprofit organization that offers students foundational life skills by integrating social and emotional learning." Their programs have many great activities for children including sports, community service, theatre and more. (YMCA)
- The winner of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce's Small Business of the Year's award is Casa Nuova Italian Restaurant! It's located at 5670 Atlanta Highway, Ste A1, in Alpharetta, and is a family-owned gourmet Italian restaurant. There will be a luncheon to celebrate them and the other finalists on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
