- School starts next week on Monday, Aug. 7. Here are some reminders on how to drive while school buses are on the road. Driving around a school bus while the red flashers and stop sign are on can result in a traffic ticket. When you see a school bus with yellow lights on, slow down and be ready to stop. This link shows how the laws work depending on the type of road. (City of Alpharetta)
- Are you looking for a new job? Milton needs athletic assistants to help out with practices, games and more. This is a perfect part time job for someone who's interested in youth athletics and learning about recreation programs. Here is a link to more information on the positions: https://www.miltonga.gov/Home/Components/JobPosts/Job/116/30. If you're interested in applying, email your resume and cover letter to recruiter@miltonga.gov. (City of Milton)
- Starting last Friday, a "grapple" truck is driving around Milton to clear up debris from last week's storms. There are branches and damaged trees next to our roads; they are picked up with the truck's arm and claw. This week, the focus will be on the area near Hopewell Road between Birmingham Road and Thompson Road. This vehicle takes up a lot of room on the road to safely do its job, so please allow extra time when driving in areas that were impacted by the storms. (City of Milton)
- Last month, Double’s Pizza on Nesbit Ferry Road in Johns Creek was robbed. The owner found the front door smashed when opening the restaurant on July 9. Missing items include a 43-inch Samsung TV, cash, iPads and other items. Police are investigating the thefts. (Appen Media)
