Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- The City of Milton is gathering research on what needs to be done to improve the city's roads as part of the Comprehensive Traffic Plan. Motorists are encouraged to fill out the survey on this link: https://engagekh.com/milton2023ctpsurvey. In addition, they will be gathering data on the amount of traffic and driving speeds at several locations throughout Milton. Here is a link to additional information on the traffic plan: www.miltonga.gov/CTP.
- Do you have electronics, documents and other items that need to be recycled? There will be a recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Alpharetta Department of Public Works, located at 1790 Hembree Road. It will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Some electronics will be accepted free of charge, and there will be charges for other ones. In addition to electronics and documents, you can bring plastic and Styrofoam. This link has a list of what materials can be accepted that day, plus other important information. (Alpharetta Recycling)
- The City of Alpharetta will maintain its millage rate at 5.75 mills, which hasn't changed since 2009. Additional tax revenue expected to come in as a result of higher property values. These funds will be placed into an unallocated capital projects account that will be used for one-time items such as improvements to roads, parks, sidewalks and other big-ticket items.
