Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- Do you frequently drive throughout Milton? Milton is putting together a Comprehensive Transportation Plan and wants feedback from the public. Here is a link to a brief survey where you can enter comments on an interactive map: https://engagekh.com/milton2023ctpsurvey . In addition to the survey, data is being gathered at intersections throughout Milton including traffic volume and speed. (Subscription - The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Milton's first Touch-a-Truck festival, held last Saturday, was a huge success. Thousands attended the event, which took place in the Stonecreek Church parking lot. They viewed many vehicles including a fire engine, SWAT truck, moving truck, garbage truck and more. In addition, there was food, inflatables, and Milton firefighters hung a large American flag from an extended ladder. (City of Milton)
- An armed robber tried to rob the Alpharetta Zaxby's on Old Milton Parkway and was stopped by an armed bystander. On Sunday night at closing, a man tried to rob the restaurant's manager at gunpoint in the parking lot. A quick-thinking bystander shot the alleged robber in the legs, and the robber ran into the woods. Shortly after, Alpharetta police found the robber with bullet wounds and brought him to the hospital. Charges will be pressed against the robber when he recovers. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Milton is preparing for the upcoming municipal election. There was training for poll workers in City Hall's Chambers earlier this week. They covered items such as how to determine if someone is registered to vote and where in Milton to cast your ballet.
